Another Reason To Listen To Chris Rice Music

Let me begin by saying how much I appreciate the people who serve us daily as police officers. I have huge respect for them, and just want to say thanks to them for helping us live safe and civilized lives. Often endangering their own lives! Thank an officer for his or her service soon.
Now, let me go on to a story that I find funny...and flattering. My friend Shelley was driving along the interstate on her way home from college one day. Suddenly she sees blue lights flashing behind her, and pulls over. The officer approaches her car and asks for her driver's license and vehicle registration. (We ALL know how that feels.)
*****************
WE INTERRUPT THIS STORY FOR A QUICK SAFETY AND RESPECT LESSON! When pulled over for speeding, do the following immediately, even before the officer approaches your car if possible:
1 Turn your interior lights on so the officer can see clearly into the vehicle.
2. If you have easy access to your wallet, set it on the dashboard above your steering wheel in plain sight.
3. Roll down your window.
4. Put both hands on your steering wheel (at 10 and 2).
5. Wait patiently for the officer to approach, and try to ignore that your heart is racing right now.
THESE SIMPLE STEPS GO A LONG WAY TO SHOW RESPECT, AND MINIMIZE THE OFFICER'S STRESS IN APPROACHING A VEHICLE.

Now, back to our story.
Oh, yeah, Shelley.
So the officer takes Shelley's information and does that thing officers do when they go back to their car and 'run a check' on you. While waiting, Shelley tries to decide if crying is the best thing to do at this point. She opts out of the tears. (Although, sometimes you don't have the option!)
When the officer returns, he continues with the citation process.
Then, as if out of nowhere, the officer says to Shelley, "Hey is that a Chris Rice CD over there?"
Shelley looks to her right and notices the CD on the passenger seat of her car.
Timidly, she responds, "Yes sir."
Officer: "You have good taste in music."
Shelley: "Thank you."
Officer: "I think I'm just going to give you a warning today."
Shelley: "Thank you!"
The officer walks away whistling, "Life gave me lemonade....." (just kidding about that part!)
Funny story? Well, all I'm saying is, if you keep a Chris Rice CD visible on the passenger seat in your car at all times, it could help you in a tough situation. I'm just sayin.......
